Embrace Your Cosmic Brilliance: My Why for Human Design

Welcome to the delightful journey into the world of Human Design! If you're seeking a path of self-discovery and personal growth rooted in love and acceptance, then you've come to the right place. My goal with this post is to share a little bit about my personal why on Human Design.

Human Design has become like a best friend, with guidance that is rooted in love and grace. It combines elements of astrology, the I Ching, Kabbalah, and the chakra system to provide a blueprint of your unique energetic makeup. Besides the Chakra system and the Kabbalah (thanks to Madonna), I had never even heard of these other systems. I was fairly familiar with astrology after spending many afternoons reading my horoscope in Cosmo Girl, but I always wanted more than just a few vague sentences. Sure, I have a Libra sun, but the story about Libra’s being indecisive never really jived with me. I knew there had to be more and at 30 years old, I would eventually find it in Human Design.

Human Design is like having a treasure map to your unique magic, revealing your strengths, challenges, and the most authentic way to navigate life, YOUR way. When Human Design came into my life, I felt full-body chills! I felt so seen and understood, and in a deeper more meaningful way than any other personality test or birth chart reading I had ever done before. My eyes were moving all over the page in awe and wonder. It was official… I had entered into my experiment.

One of my favorite aspects of Human Design is its emphasis on individuality. As a Manifestor Type, we make up 9% of the population and holy cow, did that feel so right, especially with my life experiences. I struggled a LOT as a kid and, I spent a lot of time feeling rejected by my peers at school, but at home, I felt like the coolest kid on the planet (thanks Mom). Obviously, this was wildly confusing for a 10-year-old who just wanted to be invited to a sleepover, but couldn’t understand why she wasn’t “enough” and also “too much” at the same time. Human Design recognizes and celebrates that we're all different, with unique gifts and purposes, and it celebrates that diversity rather than trying to fit everyone into the same mold. This was such a breath of fresh air for me. It was like, “Finally! Full permission to me myself? Thank you!!!” And there was no turning back after that.

But- Human Design isn't just about understanding yourself; it's also about understanding others. By learning about the Designs of those around you, you can deepen your relationships, communicate more effectively, and appreciate the beauty of diversity. Of course, after I ran my chart, I immediately ran my husband’s chart and my mom’s chart. Even though I hardly knew what I know today, I knew what I was seeing was magic.

At its heart, Human Design is a journey of grace. It reminds us to approach ourselves and others with compassion and understanding, creating a world where everyone is free to be their authentic selves. It's like tasting the sweetest dessert of self-discovery, with each bite revealing a new layer of your true essence. And ya’ll… give me a monthly membership to this buffet because I’m telling you… it’s DELICIOUS.
